logo metegder trMesleki ve Teknik Egitimi Gelistirme Dernegi (METEGDER) was established in Istanbul as an umbrella organization in order to contribute development of education and training in Turkey. It has hundreds of experienced members from various fields in universities, vocational/general secondary schools, private and public sectors. For achieving main aim stated above METEGDER Association carries out some activities as follow;

  • Implementing research activities on how to improve quality and quantity of education and training.
  • Organizing conferences, seminars courses in order to get opinions, advice and thoughts of well-known academician to advance vocational education and training.
  • Publishing and gathering periodical, books and other kind of written documents to provide wide variety of information about education and training.
  • Preparing and implementing national and international projects in order to compare national education and training system and its practices with other countries’ systems and practices, and transfer best practices from other more developed countries, if possible. Moreover, organizing study visits and field visit are another kind of activities under this subject.

As an umbrella organization for public and private institutions/organizations and NGO, METEGDER has been a part of several national and international projects regarding topic, teacher training with soft competences.  Moreover, METEGDER keens on to improve its experiences regarding soft competences.

Key personnel
Şaban Berk has more than 20 years experiences in educational sector and about 10 years experiences in international Projects. Mr. Berk, has worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, project coordinator and educational expert in Ministry of National Education (MoNE) since he graduated from his Bachelor degree. After completing his PhD degree, he has been teaching Faculty of Education in Marmara University at the department of educational sciences, curriculum and instruction. He has ideas that developing and gaining soft skills for teacher are as important as subject matters.  

Mustafa Demirer has completed his BSc in the field of vocational education faculty as a teacher and started his career as a technical teacher. He has been working in the educational field as a teacher, chief of department and Project coordinator since 1994. He started his career as a principal at secondary school from where the teachers will be recruited for the Project. He has over 9 years of experience in developing, delivering and managing complex training activities and creating effective international training partnerships around EU countries and is still studying PHD about EU relation in Istanbul University.

Ali Özdemir is having more than 18 years experience in private educational sector as a coach, teacher and private tutor in order to prepare students to international competitions, Mr. Özdemir has improved his international experiences. He and his students have plenty of medals in international skills competitions. He has served as a director of the vocational/technical high school in İstanbul Gelişim University. Mr Özdemir has been studying PhD degree at the business management program and teaching Faculty of Education in Marmara University.
